Embedded Partnerships
A senior tech and strategy partner, without the full-time hire
Some businesses don't need a one-off project — they need ongoing capability. Someone who knows their context, shows up consistently, and can move fast when it matters. Our embedded partnership model puts a senior Qualia consultant inside your operation on a retainer basis: attending your meetings, contributing to your roadmap, shipping work alongside your team, and being genuinely accountable for outcomes over time. Cheaper than a full-time hire. More embedded than a typical agency.

Frequently asked questions
What does a retainer actually cover?▾
It depends on what you need. Some clients retain us primarily for strategic advisory — regular input on roadmap, hiring decisions, and technology choices. Others need hands-on delivery: design, development, or content work on an ongoing basis. Most are a mix. We agree the scope at the start of each engagement and review it monthly.
What's the minimum retainer commitment?▾
We typically ask for a three-month minimum to make the onboarding worthwhile for both sides. Most partnerships run for six to twelve months or longer. We don't lock you in beyond the initial term — if it's not working, we'd rather know early.
How is this different from just hiring an agency on an ongoing basis?▾
Most agencies work project by project, with account management overhead between engagements and a team that's never fully across your context. Our embedded model means a consistent person who genuinely knows your business — sitting in your planning sessions, knowing your team's names, and accountable for outcomes not just deliverables.
Can we start with a project and move to a retainer?▾
Yes, and that's often the natural path. A project gives both sides a chance to see how we work together before committing to an ongoing arrangement. If it goes well — and we think it will — transitioning to a retainer is straightforward.
